Valorant Patch 8.11: Agent Buffs and Nerfs Overview
Curious about whether Iso and Neon just got the buffs they needed?
Iso’s Double Tap now grants a shield almost immediately after a brief animation.
The buffs don’t stop there—secure a kill during Double Tap’s uptime, and orbs still spawn even if the shield is lost.
It doesn’t get easier to stay in the fight since shooting the orbs prolongs the shield’s duration and the buff.
Interestingly, charges are now minimized to one, and the kill reset feature has been added.
In strategic gameplay, this opens new possibilities for Iso players to dominate.
Moving over to Neon, the changes are significantly impactful for both solo and team plays.
Her Fast Lane now dissipates from behind, clearing up visual clutter.
Moreover, the audio updates make it easier to gauge enemy positions around the wall.
Remarkably, sprint speed while moving sideways has increased for High Gear, and her slide charges have doubled.
Agent Updates: Iso, Neon, Reyna, Raze, and Clove
Iso’s new shield mechanism is quite the game-changer.
It offers a brief one-second animation that interrupts gun use but compensates with added defense.
Securing two kills resets the ability, ensuring survival and continuous engagement.
The shield now provides directional damage indicators and a slower speed drop-off upon breaking, keeping Iso’s mobility intact even under fire.
The ability to recast Double Tap while active prolongs Iso’s defensive uptime, drastically improving his sustainability in fights.
Neon’s updates are interesting, particularly to Fast Lane.
By reducing wall duration yet increasing dissolve times, players can experience a more tactical play.
The changes to High Gear are noteworthy: eliminating strafe speed penalties and boosting max sprint speed make Neon more agile and unpredictable.
Increased slide charges and faster fuel regeneration enhance her hit-and-run capabilities.
The adjustments to Relay Bolt with a reduced windup delay and fewer charges make her utility more strategic.
Reyna’s Devour and Dismiss abilities now have more defined roles.
Reduced healing from Devour indicates a shift towards more tactical play rather than reliance on quick health boosts.
Dismiss’s speed increase, despite its shorter duration, allows for faster repositioning during dire situations.
Empress remains powerful, now lasting indefinitely until Reyna is killed or the round ends, rewarding aggressive playstyles and careful positioning.
Raze players might need to adjust their strategies, as Blast Packs no longer cause explosion damage or knockback upon opponent destruction.
This change, combined with the slower horizontal velocity, emphasizes precision and planning over sheer explosive force.
The updated satchel explosion sound ensures that both Raze players and their opponents can better perceive the threat zone.
Clove’s abilities have received subtle but substantial tweaks.
Pick-Me-Up’s cost increase and reduced duration push players to use it more judiciously within its shorter activation window.
The decrease in assist damage timer encourages quicker engagements.
Map Pool Updates and New Map: Abyss
Thinking about the new map Abyss leaves me both excited and intrigued.
This 5v5 spike mode map brings a fascinating twist with three distinct lanes and two sites, breaking away from the traditional map boundaries we’ve grown accustomed to.
I’d love to explore the secret hidden fortress of the Scions of the Hourglass and see how the unique layout influences gameplay strategies.
The map’s boundary-free design might throw off some players initially but could lead to more fluid and dynamic matches.
I was pleased to see the return of Haven, though it’s slightly disappointing that Breeze and Split have been removed from the high-stakes pools.
Meanwhile, the inclusion of Abyss in Unrated, Swift Play, Spike Rush, and Escalation will provide plenty of opportunities to master this new battleground.
Special mention goes to the Abyss Only queue that’s live for just a week on PC.
This limited-time mode uses the Unrated format and gives us a focused period to dive deeply into the map’s mechanics.
